About France Income Tax (2024)
France uses a quotient familial system: household income is divided by the number of fiscal parts (1 for single, 2 for couple, +0.5 per dependent child), then progressive rates of 0%–45% are applied, and taxes are multiplied back.
In addition to income tax, employees pay CSG+CRDS social charges of 9.7% on 98.25% of gross salary. A standard professional expense abattement of 10% (capped at €14,171) reduces taxable income automatically.
